OUR PASTORS
Pastor Bruce Ebersole
Bruce Ebersole spent twelve of his formative years in the Philippine Islands, where his parents served as missionaries. He returned to the U.S. for college, earning his undergraduate degree from Northeastern Bible College in Essex Fells, New Jersey. After graduation he worked as a carpenter for six years, doing post-graduated studies at Drew University and getting involved in the life of Calvary Evangelical Free Church. Bruce met Sharon, a beautiful and full-of-life nurse, and they were married on in August of 1984. In 1989, with their nine-month-old daughter, Christine, they traveled to Port Moresby where Bruce served as a chaplain at the University of Papua New Guinea. From there they went to the Philippines, where he worked with university students for six months in Baguio City. Bruce accepted a call to pastor teens at Calvary Church, where he and Sharon enjoyed ten full years before leaving to help plant Christ the King in Denville in 2000. While at Calvary they welcomed four other children: Rusty, Connor, Kelly, and Bruce.
Bruce and Sharon have been abundantly blessed to be part of the work the Lord is doing in CTK since its inception, first in Denville and now in the nearby town of Dover.
Bruce loves spending time with Sharon, their children (and four married-in children), their five grandchildren, their vast extended families, and their precious friends from CTK. He enjoys preaching and teaching, visiting, reading all kinds of books (especially aloud with Sharon and with their grandchildren), music, sports, NYC, cuisine of all kinds, road trips and coming home. He is thankful for God’s manifold blessings and for the privilege of being a pastor at CTK.
Pastor Jim MacLean
Born in Grenoble, France, Jim MacLean lived all over the world before settling in Denville, NJ with his wife, Wendy, and their four beautiful children whose antics frequently find their way into his sermons. Jim attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, and earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Liberty University. He went to seminary at the New York Divinity School.
Jim loves to preach and teach God's Word. He has spent the last four years preaching Christ through the book of Genesis. He also has the privilege of overseeing CTK’s Sunday School Classes, teaching at the Market Street Mission, Marriage Counseling, Missions Trips, Visitation, and Youth Ministry which pairs his passion for seeing people grow closer to Christ with his love for staying active. Jim enjoys biking, boogie boarding, volleyball, snowboarding, hiking and traveling.
