Our goal at CTK is to see our teenagers:
1. Love the Lord
2. Love Life
3. Love the lost
Join us on Wednesday nights for Bible Study at our Church Office in Denville from 5:30PM to 7:00PM.
After having taught through the book of Mark last year, I decided to turn to the book Ruth. Ruth is an amazing love story but it begins with much suffering and tragedy due to a famine. a failure in leadership, and some funerals.
Ruth is a Moabite. Moabites were the descendants of incest between Lot and his daughter. They worshipped a false god named Chemosh! She is a widow and she has no children. Furthermore, she is bankrupt and homeless. She is in a desperate situation, but trusts in the God of her mother-in-law Naomi and follows her back to Bethlehem just as the barley harvest was beginning.
Ruth is a loyal and faithful friend to a bitter person. She is also hard working and providentially ends up in the fields of Boaz--a godly man who protects her, provides for her, redeems her and marries her. They have a son named Obed who is the grandfather of David. From her line, would come the savior of the world, Jesus.
Ruth is a fitting description of every believer and the church itself. We were poor and desperate when our great Redeemer came and rescued us out of the most desperate situation. Jesus Christ redeemed us and brought us into a position of great favor. We are called the bride of Christ, and loved by him with the deepest affection. Come join us as we dig into this extraordinary love story.
With joy and anticipation at what God will do with His powerful, life-transforming Word!
We usually meet three Sundays a month for outreach and fun. We play games, watch movies, and frequently caravan into New York City. Please refer to the calendar for specific events and times.
